Our Postbac RA starts a funded MSc at NDSU

Many congratulations to our Postbac Research Assistant (PRA) Fatema Akter who is starting a funded MSc at North Dakota State University, USA, from Spring 2025. She joined COALab in March 2024 and she will work here until November 2024. Working at COALab entails analyzing images and other forms of data on a high-performance computing server. We do not take PRAs to make astronomers out of them, rather we want to emphasize the fact that working on “astronomical” data will help you no matter what career path you choose. Fatema has proved that our PRAships are on the right track. She was the most hard working and dedicated PRA I have seen so far in my five years of experience in Bangladesh. I am sure she will do a great job in her future career.

Here is a note from Fatema:

“I have completed my BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology in October 2023. I have always been desiring to pursue higher studies. I wanted to enhance my research skills and joining IUB as a research assistant in February 2024 in the project ‘Analyzing the Universe: Data, Interpretation, Theory (AUDIT)’ was a blessing for my purpose. By August 2024, I got an offer letter from North Dakota State University with full tuition waiver and graduate research assistantship for MS in Agriculture and Biosystem Engineering for spring 2025. I want to keep exploring the universe and want to contribute for the betterment of nature.”
